Management is one of the most decisive factors in the success of any organisation — yet in much of the world it remains an occupation rather than a chartered, science-based profession.

NCIMSA is a professional institute advancing the practice of management across government, industry, academia and civil society. We operate a dual-continent model that links American academic standards with African implementation — with our Corporate Registered Office in Austin, Texas and an African Continental Headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria.

Our work is to establish and promote the standards for management science, to certify competent and ethical management professionals through chartered designations, to conduct research that addresses modern management challenges, and to build the institutional capacity of governments and corporations.

NCIMSA was founded in 2026 with a clear purpose: to bridge the widening gap between how organisations are managed and the recognised professional standards that management deserves.

Across many economies, management is practised without common standards, shared ethics, or recognised credentials. As organisations grow more complex, the need for a rigorous, science-based professional body becomes ever more urgent.

The Institute was therefore conceived not as a school, but as a chartering and standards body — certifying professionals, conferring designations, and advancing research across five specialist colleges.

From the outset, NCIMSA has embraced a global outlook, uniting practitioners, executives, researchers and institutions across Africa, the United States and beyond in a shared commitment to scientific management.
